Sony launches A290 revised entry level DSLR

Sony launches A290 revised entry level DSLR Sony updates it's entry level DSLR range. There is not much to add about this new camera. Sony Alpha A290 is essentially the same as A230 with an improved grip and 14.2 MP CCD sensor. All in all a compact and light camera with a good sensor inside.


Sony Nex-C3 Announcement

Sony has announced a new entry level mirrorless interchangeble lens camera under the name of Nex-C3. The camera is aimed at the user who wants a compact camera with very good image quality even in low light. Sony advertises it as the smallest and lightest digital camera with an APS-C type sensor which no doubt is very appealing to the target market. The camera is announced together with a new external flash gun (HVL-F20S GN: 20m - 50mm/ISO100) which will be avalilable from October at around 150$. Nex C3 offers a 16.2MP sensor and features in cammera "Picture Effects" processing filters that will be offered fro Nex-3 and Nex-5 cameras as firmware upgrade by Sony. It will be available as kit with the 18-55mm E-mount lens (~649$) or with the 16mm f2.8 E-mount prime lens (~599$).


The Next PEN Flagship Olympus PEN E-P3

Olympus refreshes today its PEN camera line-up. The new E-P3 is clearly aimed at the enthusiast photographer with its compact size, retro looks and improved autofocus speed. The camera offers a revised 12MP sensor, a 614,000 dot OLED touchscreen, built-in flash, and can shoot 1080i 60fps HD movies in AVCHD format. We believe that the stand-out feature of the new Olympus PEN E-P3 is the new improved autofocus system which the company claims it to offer world's fastest AF as of today (30.06.2011).

Sony launches A390 revised entry level DSLR Sony updates it's entry level DSLR range. There is not much to add about this new camera. Sony Alpha A390 is essentially the same as A380 that it replaces with an improved grip and the same 14.2 MP CCD sensor. All in all a compact and light camera with a good sensor inside. A390 offers also Sony's clever fast live view system but at the expense of a slightly smaller viewfinder magnification compared to similar A290 camera
